Modern Machines In Ndop

Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Gabriel Mbairobe on July 2 inspected the installation operation at the Upper Noun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA) in Ndop.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe, accompanied by North West’s Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique, the Board chair of UNVDA and other officials of the region have saluted moves by the Upper Noun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA) to boost rice production in the Ndop basin. This was during his working visit to the institution in Ndop- Ngoketunjia on July 2, 2026. The situation of rice production in the Ndop basin is expected to improve drastically following the installation of newly acquired modern machines with funds from the Presidential Plan for reconstruction and development (PPRD) of the North West and South West Regions. Amongst the modern equipment acquired is a smart automated machine with a production capacity of 20 tons per hour, a maximum capacity of 500 tons per day, and about 100,000 tons annually.
