Promoting Local Governance: More Communities Pledge Participation

Members of the Kom community had an awareness creation session with a team from the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator on July 5, 2026.

T he people of Kom (Boyo Division) living in Bamenda have taken the challenge to sensitise their people even back home on the need of par­ ticipating in Council affairs to ensure development. They took the commitment in Bamenda on July 5, 2026 after a sensitisation meeting with a team from the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) for the North West Region. The visit to the Kom Development Association (KOCUDA) in Bamenda features amongst the many others that the PIC has carried out within its first mandate aimed at se­ nistising people to take part in Council development affairs. The team educated the people through various presentations including the creation of the Of­ fice of the Public Independent Conciliator, its organisation, mis­ sions and functioning done by Research Office No5, Dr. Atia Tilarious.
