University Games 2017: UBa Fine-tunes Preparations

 Final touches are going on at the campus of the University of Bamenda to ensure a hitch-free event.

The University of Bamenda (UBa) and contractors are turning full circle to complete sports infrastructure to handle the games. It is against this backdrop that the Director of Infrastructure at UBa Prof. Chrispen  Petang told Cameroon Tribune on April 18, 2017 that all will be well with 85 per cent of infrastructure completed.
Prof. Chrispen Petang said the athletics track is virtually good for use and the grand stand will be covered before the games rumble off on April 22, 2017. He however indicated that the rains and ghost town calls have not helped matters for the progress of work.
The Head of the Sports and Recreation Division, Tama Wango said but for the marathon race, the university playgrounds and neighbourhood stadia in Tubah Subdivision will host all the ten sport disciplines in the men and women's categories, plus fan clubs competing for medals and points.  It emerged from Tama Wango that the games will feature athletes, trainers and officials from some 18 State Universities and privat...
