Division 1 Championship: Leadership Struggle Continues

Matches counting for the 10th playing day will take place across the country today

 

The quest for the top seat on the league table will be the major challenge today as the national first division football championship enters the tenth playing day. A total of nine matches are on programme with each side determined to win.
Today’s encounters are particular as they are full of stakes and challenges. At the top of the classification table the battle seems to be tough. League leader, Eding Sport of Lekié, will play against Coton Sport of Garoua in Garoua. Many fans at home are in doubt whether Eding Sport will be able to retain the title after the long journey to Garoua. Eding Sport happened to regain the first position after UMS Loum lost to Yong Sorts Academy 0-1 on the ninth playing day. The fight will be tough as it will be difficult to know which team will be first and which will be second. Both teams have 18 points but are separated by goal difference.
 Union Sportive of Douala will host Stade Renard of Melong. Stade Renard is third with 17 points. Union Douala which is occupying the ninth position on the league table with 11 points will be playing with much pressure from their fans who will be waiting anxiously for a victory for their team. Aigle Royal which is on the 11th position with 11 points will equally have a difficult task when they face Bamboutos FC at home. Bamboutous FC is occupying the fourth position with 14 points. Bamboutos will be fighting to move a step up while Aigle Royal will be out to win so as to avoid the relegation zone.
In all, the 10th playing day promises to produce a lot of fireworks as each team is determined to improve on its situation. As a result, all the teams are working out strategies in order to obtain the best results at the end of the day.

Le championnat national n’est qu’à ses débuts et 17 arbitres ont déjà été sanctionnés. Quelles sont les dispositions prises pour la supervision des rencontres de Ligue 1 ?


Le secrétariat général vient de suspendre provisoirement 17 arbitres et arbitres assistants officiant pour le compte des championnats Ligue I et Ligue II. Ceux-ci sont coupables d’avoir faussé les résultats de huit rencontres malgré les dispositions prises pour sécuriser lesdites rencontres. Ces dispositions sont d’ordre sportif et d’ordre financier. Les matches de Ligue 1 sont supervisés par les inspecteurs d’arbitres qui se recrutent parmi les anciens arbitres internationaux ou fédéraux. A ces inspecteurs, on adjoint aussi des personnes qui ont une expérience avérée dans la gestion du football. La connaissance des lois du jeu est une exigence capitale dans ce choix. Bien plus, l’accès aux vestiaires des arbitres est sécurisé. Pour que les arbitres soient à l’abri des tentations et pressions inhérentes à l’activité football, la Ligue envoie à chaque officiel ses indemnités avant le match.
