NASLA: Third Batch of Trainees Begin Training

T he 3rd batch of trai­ nees of the National School of Local Admi­ nistration (NASLA) has commenced effective initial training at its Buea campus. Some 427 trainees of cycles A, B and C admitted through a competitive entrance exa­ mination organised by the Mi­ nistry of Decentralisation and Local Development began their 2-years training following the official opening ceremony chai­ red by the Director-General of NASLA, Tanyitiku E. Bayee, in the presence of his close col­ laborators. Addressing the trainees, the Director-General of NASLA stressed the need for disci­ pline, devoutness to go through the rigorous training programme which consist of both theory and professional internship spread through four semesters. The 3rd batch of trainees, Mr Tanyitiku Bayee stated, is the first to benefit from the major general re­ forms. One of the reforms is the newly designed curriculum tailored to meet the needs of Regional and Local adminis­ tration. The Director-General intimated the new curriculum is a result of several months of hard work, in-depth consul­ tations with partners and ri­ gorous assessment of the needs in the field.
