Buea: Upper Bokova To Preserve Cultural Heritage

While commissioning the members of the traditional council of the chiefdom on July 25, 2026, HRM Barrister Evanjoh Abel Nyoki called for collective efforts.
T he Upper Bokova Chiefdom in Buea Sub division has put in place its local gover nance structures to facilitate administration, preserve cul tural heritage and drive deve lopment. Three months after the enthronement of the tra ditional ruler, HRM Barrister Evanjoh Abel Nyoki (Chief Mbella IV), he proceeded to install quarter heads and ap pointed members of the tradi tional council, the major go vernance organ of the village. While installing the Chairman, executive and members of the traditional council at the Bokova community field, HRM Barrister Evanjoh reminded the selected few that the administration of the village rests on them. “You are the ones to administer jus tice, order and respect in this community. Please I beseech you to let me focus on deve lopmental issues. I cannot be thinking of designing projects like providing boreholes, ligh ting up and paving our streets and at the same time solving matrimonial or boundary pro blems”, he said while reminding the traditional council of their responsibilities. This, he un derscored, must be carried out with devotion, justice and in tegrity.
