Personal Income Tax Declaration: Cyber Café Owners Facilitate Processes

“Pay a minimum of FCFA 2,000 to get help with declaring your taxes or pay an evasion fine of FCFA 100,000 after the deadline”. This has been a recurrent statement in most cyber cafes in Yaounde since the start of this year’s declaration for Personal Income Tax (IRPP) in Cameroon, on July 31, 2025. As the declaration of the IRPP taxes for the 2025 fiscal year closes today, both public sector and private indi­ viduals are flooding local Cyber Cafes in Yaounde to declare their income and assets. According to Brice Tchat­ choua, the demand for tax declaration at his cyber space within the last week, has doubled than the usual influx. He explained that with the training gotten from the Directorate of Taxation on filling the forms and offering additional services like facilitating the creation of the Unique Identification Number officially billed at FCFA 1,000, and Tax Compliance Certificate (ACF) costing FCFA 1,000, added to the service fee, clients are obliged to make a minimum cumulative payment of between FCFA 4,000 to 6,000 depending on the client’s bargaining power. “Clients who may not want to comply with our rates can deal with the internet break...
