The assurance of getting quality, secured, and dynamic services, at major commercial centres unlike open-air markets, Yaounde inhabitants say, has been a major form of attraction.

O ften, house managers’ weekly routines remain incomplete without a trip to the shopping malls. Due to their desire to abscond the huddles and inconvenience of frequently crowded open-air markets marked by insecurity, these clients find their needs met at the malls that offer dy- namic and amazing services. At PlaYce, a client walks into a lot of options offered by different shops. There are stalls for fresh and packaged food, specialized boutiques, banking and money services, dining and leisure, health, car wash services, among others. A house wife, Annie Mu- lema is a customer at Carrefour PlaYce who shops monthly for her makeup and food items. “I am certain of the quality of pro- ducts I buy from here”, she ex- plained. She added that the ma- nagement of this shopping mall understands customer’s need and makes efforts to keep clients satisfied and loyal. A buoyant scenario is also ob- served at the SPAR Mall in Yaounde that hosts versatile stalls of goods and services including groceries, clothes, electronic appliances, and res- taurants.
