National Communication Council: Access To Information On Spotlight

M embers of the National Communication Council -NCC on Tuesday August 4th ended a two days visit to the Littoral region with a courtesy visit to the governor. The NCC delegation led by Serge Ngando Ntone met with Governor Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, following a meeting with media practitioners aimed at promoting responsible journalism. During the audience, the NCC dele- gation presented a summary of the discussions held with journalists and expressed appreciation to the Governor for his sustained efforts in preserving peace and social sta- bility in the Littoral Region. They noted that a peaceful environment remains essential for the media to effectively carry out its mission of informing the public. The regional delegate of communi- cation for the Littoral region, Djin Soppo Ndongo Moukoko highlighted that one of the major concerns rai- sed by journalists during the meeting was the limited access to public in- formation. She explained that many journalists encounter difficulties in obtaining official information, as some public and administrative au- thorities are often reluctant to pro- vide timely responses to media re- quests.
