Guidance, Training, Employment Initiative: Nationwide Expansion Boosted

The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training on August 4, 2026 in Yaounde, launched the second edition of ORFEV- Jeunes, to empower 25,000 young job seekers.
Youth unemployment remains a persistent struc tural hurdle, leaving thousands of young people without direct pathways into the modern work force or public sector roles in Cameroon. To mitigate this, the Youth Holiday Guidance, Training, and Employment initiative known by the French acronym ORFEV-Jeunes, is missioned to bridge the gap between education, practical skills, and real-world employment opportunities. In its second edition, the interim Minister of Em ployment and Vocational Training, Mounouna Foutsou, revealed that the initiative is scaling its impact to train over 25,000 young people. He explained that the 2026 edition planned from August 4 to September 15, 2026 will focus on fast-growing sectors like the digital economy, renewable energy and telecommunications, along side often-overlooked fields like sports industry trades that offer strong potential for social and economic integration.
