Cameroon-European Union: Partnership To Accelerate Private Sector Growth

A sensitisation workshop was held in Buea on August 6, 2026, to present the European Union-funded initiative and its recently launched call for projects.
Entrepreneurs and business stake holders in the South West Region have been encouraged to take ad vantage of opportunities offered by the Economic Development Support through Value Chains and Private Initiative Promotion (PAD-CV) project to expand their businesses and contribute to Cameroon’s economic transformation. The call was made during a sensiti sation workshop held in Buea on August 6, 2026 to present the Eu ropean Union-funded initiative and its recently launched call for Projects. Opening the workshop, South West Regional Delegate for MINEPAT, HRM Chief Fotsop Dominic, said the project aligns with the National Development Strategy 2020–2030 by promoting private sector investment, entrepre neurship and sustainable value chain development. He encouraged en trepreneurs, particularly women and young people, to take advantage of the programme. Presenting the project, PAD-CV Head of Mission, Marc Lacharme, said the Government of Cameroon and the European Union are jointly financing the four-year initiative with 15 mil lion euros (about FCFA 9.84 billion). He explained that the project seeks to strengthen sustainable value chains, improve access to finance and enhance the competitiveness of businesses.
