Cameroon-Brazil Political Consultations: Strengthening Technical, Agricultural Cooperation

W ithin the framework of the third Session of the Political Consultations Mechanism between Cameroon and Brazil, the Cameroonian delegation, led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oumarou Chinmoun, carried out a series of strategic acti­ vities focused on strengthening tech­ nical, agricultural, and diplomatic co­ operation. This was through four strategic visits to some institutions in Brasilia. Firstly, the delegation visited the headquarters of Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) which allowed for discussions on technology transfer opportunities, improving agricultural yields, and strengthening scientific capacities, in direct connection with the research priorities of the Agricultural Research Institute for Development (IRAD) in Cameroon. The Secretary General also had a working session at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, with the Execution Com­ mission of the Cocoa Culture Plan, on revitalizing the cocoa sector. Dis­ cussions focused on exchanging ex­ pertise in sustainability, cocoa inno­ vation, and improving agricultural va­ lue chains.
