P ersonnel serving at the Office of the Public Independent Conci liator (OPIC) for the South West Region are now abreast with inte grating technology into the ombuds man’s work. They took lessons on understanding forensic investigation methods and, proper evidence hand ling and sound digital case manage ment. The in-house training on Sep tember 10, 2026, is a fallout of a se minar in Windhoek, Namibia which assembled the world’s Ombudsman family from July 21-24, 2026. Key presentations focused on methodo logical approach to investigation, and core principles of forensic investigation and digital case handling. Also, they looked at practical document exami nation and digital evidence in om budsman’s work. Again, there were lessons on strengthening human rights protection through effective mediation law, human rights law and the activities of the Office of the Pu blic Independent Conciliator which were examined by legal experts, Dr. Tambe Cyrille Bua and Atemnkeng Michael. The Public Independent Conciliator for the South West, Telelen Dorothy Atabong Motaze, said the aspects are interconnected as they speak directly to their continuous efforts to moder nize operations and align with emer ging best practices in the public ser vice delivery and alternative dispute mechanism.
