Protection Of Primates: Cooperation To Strenghten Course

M embers of the African Pri­ matological Society (APS) have resolved to unite all cards on desk to enhance greater investment by the African Scientist and Conservators, to ensure the re­ cognition of local indigenous com­ munities, reinforce scientific me­ thods to combat climate change, strengthen local and international collaboration between scientific re­ searchers. These were attained du­ ring the General Assembly of the fourth APS congress held at the Yaounde Conference Centre from September 8-11, 2026. The five- day event united dynamic partici­ pants under the theme,“Ethical Pri­ matology; Recognising the Role of Local and Indigenous Communities in the Conservation of African Pri­ mates”. The congress also elected former Secretary General Dr. Ekwoge Abwe for a four-year term as the new President of the APS, succeeding Prof. Inza Kone.
