Bello Bouba: Sporadic Public Appearance

T he name alone is already a household name, both in politics and administration. However, after the Presidential election, which is today one year ago, Bello Bouba Maigari, National President and flag bearer of the National Union for Democracy and Progress (NUDP) has been barely seen in public. In fact, his rare public appearances can be counted. More specifically, the last time Bello Bouba was heard speaking about the election itself was on October 12, 2025 which was the voting day, when he cast his vote in his native Basheo village in the outskirts of Garoua, North Region. Since the results were proclaimed by the Consti­ tutional Council in which emerged fourth with a 2.4 per cent of the total valid cast, Bello Bouba has maintained a prolonged silence.
