Out of twelve, three were rejected while two others will undergo further examination.
The Interstate Committee of Pesticides of Central Africa (CPAC) has approved seven more pesticides for use within the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).
CPAC’s Commission for the Homologation of Pesticides in Africa (CHOPES) homologated the biochemical products at the end of the Committee’s second session in Yaounde on Tuesday May 9, 2017. According to the Deputy Director for the Protection of Vegetations at the Chadian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ngartouloum Ndjero, who presided at CHOPES, some twelve files were received from agro-industrial companies for examination. After rigorous examinations and deliberations by representatives of member countries of CEMAC, seven of the pesticides were homologated. Amongst the seven homologated pesticides are: AGREB 80 WP (fungicide), BOXER 10 WP (insecticide), GLYCOL 41% SL (herbicide), GLYCOL 680 WDG (herbicide), SUPER KILLER 680 WDG (herbicide), SUPER 50 EC (insecticide) and SUPER 12 EC (insecticide).
