AU Summit: PM Yang Represents Head Of State

The 29th ordinary session of the Summit of Heads of State and Governments of the African Union will hold from July 3-4, 2017

 

Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang is in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa where he is the personal representative of the Head of State, President Paul Biya in the African Union 29th ordinary session of the Summit of Heads of State and Governments, a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office disclosed.
The Summit will hold on the theme, “Harnessing the demographic dividend through investments in the youth.” Reports say the summit will be the first to be chaired by the new President of the African Union, Alpha Conde, the Guinean leader who was elected earlier this year to replace the Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno. During today’s opening session at the African Union Headquarters, Nelson Mandela Plenary Conference Hall, there will be statements from the AU President, Alpha Conde, Chairperson of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat and Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).
