National Assembly : Finance Committee Improves Governance Skills
An exchange forum between the Committee members and Audit Bench of the Supreme Court officials took place on July 4, 2017
Members of the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly have embarked on continuous capacity building sessions in order to effectively play their role of oversight of government actions and ensure the wellbeing of the population.
It was in line with the commitment that the 16th exchange forum between the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly and Audit Bench of the Supreme Court was organized at the National Assembly on July 4, 2017. This was in the presence of the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Yaouba Abdoulaye. The main focus of the session was to the present the Audit Bench of the Supreme Court’s annual report for 2015.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum that continued behind closed doors, the Chairperson of the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National, Hon. Rosette Moutymbo Ayayi transmitted the satisfaction of the House Speaker for the continuous consultations. She said the sessions that have taken place over the years have strengthened the capacities of the MPs, making them more performing in their mission of oversight of government action as the people’s representatives seek to ensure the wellbeing of the population. The exchange forum held yesterday, she said was to improve on governance in order to ensure economic and social emergence.
The President of the Audit Bench of the Supreme Court, Ateba Ombala Marc on his part, thanked the House Speaker for authorizing the holding of the forum. He transmitted the greetings of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to Committee members. The Audit Bench of the Supreme Court, he said, published its first annual report in 2007 and it concerned the year 2006. Ten years after, he said, the institution came up with the 2015 report which was within the context of a new perspective of administering greater justice.
