Electoral Registers : Web Portal Available For Consultation

The web portal containing information on voter registration is now effectively accessible by using the address www.elecam.cm or a scan of the QR code of the web portal found on the institution’s official platforms. It was publicly presented yesterday July 10, 2025 by the Director General of Elections at ELECAM, Dr. Erik Essousse. The portal grants access to the website and to an online verification of enrolment on electoral registers. A wide range of information is presented on the portal, notably, updated statistics on voter registers, information about the duties and functioning of Elections Cameroon, current electoral laws, relevant electoral information and the location of ELECAM offices. 
Giving more details as to how a registered person can check their information, the Director General of Elections explained that upon access to the portal, the user clicks on the “check your registration” tab, which presents two options. The first offers you the possibility of entering the digits of your registration number as shown on your receipt, and then clicking on the “captcha” security feature to validate the process. The second request for personal information before clicking on the security validation button. Dr. Erik Essousse adds that the web portal is part of efforts to digitalise the electoral process, initiated since 2012 with the introduction of the biometrics. 
As per the measures to secure the web portal, the Director General of Elections said they are working in collaboration with CAMTEL and ANTIC to ensure the confidentiality of personal information from access by a third party. He however emphasized that the electoral registers therein reflect what was published by the institution as at December 2024.
