Bamenda: Anxiety, Resumption of Normal Activities

The population of the North West Regional capital is more concerned with their daily activities while commenting on the October 12 presidential election.
The dust is yet to settle following the rising anxiety that came with the October 12, 2025 presidential race. In Bamenda, the population was grounded indoors, with no activities or businesses for more than a month. The lockdown imposed by separatist fighters was one of the longest the people have ever experienced in the past eight years. Most people referred to it as targeted maltreatment of the population and even kids who were denied access to classrooms like their peers in other parts of the country. Curiously, the population that was denied freedom for more than a month appears to be more interested in the outcome of the October 12, 2025 presidential election. Apart from the few who knew their right and the need to participate in casting their votes as a civic duty, many are those who stayed indoors but very interested in the electoral process and most importantly the outcome.
Debates have so far been the preoccupation of some individuals who spend time analysing how the process unfolded based on social media information. Most people don't even understand how to fact-check the authenticity of information flooding social media platforms.
