2026 GCE Examinations: Smooth Kick-Off In The South West

Apart from the introduction surveillance cameras, some students indicated that on day one of the examinations, Chemistry I and History I were within their reach.

The written phase of 2026 examinations organised by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board (CGCEB) took off yesterday June 2, 2026, throughout the national territory with 208 761 registered candidates. In Buea, the Interim Registrar of CGCEB, Ndi Bernadette Frinwie Ntemna, was on the field supervising the examination. In Bilingual Grammar School Molyko Buea and Government Technical High School Molyko Buea, she was seen moving from one examination hall to another doing inspection and giving instructions for a smooth conduct of the examinations. Though she did not speak to the press, it could be observed that all was well. At Government Technical High School Molyko, the Chief of Centre, Cecilia Vetome Mokosso was observing the examination from her office through CCTV cameras. The novelty introduced by the GCE Board is expected in examination centres nationwide. Vetome Mokosso indicated that TVEE Intermediate Level had 1,375 candidates present and for TVEE Advanced Level, there were 446 candidates present, giving a total of 1,821 candidates taking the examination in centre No 22026. There were 14 absences but no late coming. The examination started at 8 AM at Bilingual Grammar School Molyko Buea. The Chief of Centre, Lyonga Cecilia Limunga said most of the students came on time.
