2026–2027 Football Season: Key Dates Known

T he Cameroon Foot­ ball Federation, bet­ ter known by its French acronym, FE­ CAFOOT, has published the schedule for the 2026–2027 football season. The schedule was released on the federa­ tion’s official Facebook page on October 6, 2026, and contains key dates for the season. Notably, the MTN Elite One Championship will kick off on October 17, 2026. No major changes have been made to the competition format. Ac­ cording to the competition rules for this season, the championship will be played in a single group of 14 teams, with matches taking place in a home-and-away format. The team ranked first at the end of the season will be crowned Cameroon’s cham­ pion. Regarding relegation, the clubs ranked 13th and 14th will be relegated to the MTN Elite Two Championship for the 2027–2028 season. The MTN Elite Two Cham­ pionship is scheduled to kick off on October 24, 2026. While no major changes have been made to the Elite One format, the Elite Two Cham­ pionship has undergone si­ gnificant changes. This sea­ son, the competition will be played in a single group of 12 clubs, also in a home-and- away format. The club ranked first at the end of the season will be declared the MTN Elite Two champion and gain pro­ motion to the Elite One.
