Canal 2'Or 2026: Celebrating Talents

L ast Saturday October 31, 2026 was a day dedicated to cele­ brating the works and achie­ vements of Cameroonian artists. It was the 15th edition of the Canal 2’Or, one of the most prestigious cultural and entertainment award ceremonies created in 2004 by Canal 2 International. The event which was placed under the theme, “Afri­ can Royalty” was graced by the First Lady, Chantal Biya and attended by several personalities. A total of 21 categories featuring 108 nominees were recognised. The jury composed of five members and voting also included the general pu­ blic (50 per cent of the total votes). The most prestigious trophy of the evening, Artist of the Year was han­ ded by the First Lady. And for this category, Kocee emerged winner in the male category, out of the 12 nominees and Sandrine Nnanga for ladies out of the 10 nominated per­ sons. From the tears of joys and their show of emotions, it was visible that they were elated for the reco­ gnition. Handing over the prizes, the First Lady congratulated each of them. Meanwhile, prior to the start of the awards ceremony, the First Lady was handed a special prize in reco­ gnition to her humanitarian activities in various domains. The organising committee of Canal 2’Or also ho­ noured four legends in the culture and entertainment industry. They included Eko Roosevelt, Salomon Tamfo (Comedy), Douleur (Makossa singer) and Tayc (Makossa singer). Other categories recognised were, best digital music won by Bad Nova for his song Hala Madrid which ge­ nerated 183,3 million views, Cysoul was crowned male afro-urban artist of Cameroon, and Sabrina in the fe­ male category, Indira for gospel mu­ sic artist, and Moustik Karismatik for best digital performance.
