German Chancellor, Angela Merkel’s CDU/CSU yesterday, February 7, 2018 entered a coalition agreement with centre-left Social Democrats, SPD. The sharing of key ministries was the last major hurdle towards forming a coalition, the BBC reported. The agreement looks set to end more than four months of wrangling since inconclusive elections last September. Under the deal, SPD could control six ministries, including Finance and Foreign Affairs. However, the SPD's 460,000 members will have a final say through a postal vote in the coming weeks on whether to accept the coalition deal.
