The two countries also plan to sign a cooperation agreement linking their international relations institute and share information on de-radicalisation of terrorists and bilingualism.
Minister Adoum Gargoum on February 6, 2018 had another audience with the Ambassador of Turkey to Cameroon, Husnu Murat Ulku. The Turkish diplomat came to solicit Cameroon’s support for his country’s candidacy in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and also solicit government’s facilitation for the proper functioning of Turkey’s schools in Cameroon.
During the talks, the Ambassador said Cameroon and Turkey face similar security and defence problems within their national territories and at their borders. He said during the recent visit of Cameroon’s Defence Minister to Turkey, three defence agreements were signed.
The talks therefore served as an opportunity for Husnu Murat Ulku to reiterate Turkey’s support to Cameroon in all domains and Minister Adoum Gargoum also reassured the Ambassador of Cameroon’s support to his country. Concerning the issue of Turkey’s schools, the Minister said he would forward the matter to the technical ministries.
