The presence of players with double nationalities and who are still eligible to play could be an added advantage to the national team that needs reinforcement in several compartments.

Getting players with double nationalities has been the dream of many football nations. With the growing standards of football in the world today, many countries are taking the advantage of players with dual nationalities and who are still eligible to play, to boost the performances of their teams. In most major competitions nowadays, it is common to see national teams with players that have double nationalities. 
During the 2021 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the different participating countries especially those considered as small football nations beefed up their squads with players with dual nationalities for the teams to be able to meet up with the level of the competition. During the 2018 World Cup in Russia, there were five Cameroonian players in the tournament who played for other nations. 
Players with dual nationalities are believed to have more experience in the game of football as they are based abroad and they play in highly competitive championships. Such players begin training at a tender age and in good conditions which enable them to easily adapt to modern football. Cameroon has had players with dual nationalities who have made great contributions to the national team.
