End-of-year Celebrations : Security, Products Availability Assured

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday December 21, 2023 chaired an inter-ministerial meeting during which the assurances were given.


As citizens prepare to celebrate end-of-year festivities, the government has assessed the security situation and the availability of stocks of consumer goods.  This was during an inter-ministerial meeting held yesterday December 21, 2023 at the Star Building and chaired by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute. The objective of the meeting was to ensure that people are safe during celebrations as well as guarantee the steady supply of products on the national market. The Prime Minister, Head of Government, was very clear, the meeting is to review the general situation of the country in key areas, as well as making an appreciation of actions taken to ensure the availability of basic consumer and petroleum products in the market.
With Christmas and New Year around the corner, and faced with multiple national and international challenges, the government is particularly concerned about the security of persons and property, and the smooth organisation of festivities. As a result, concrete answers were provided to questions raised during the inter-ministerial meeting.
As concerns security, a subject of great concern, the presentations of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo and the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, revealed that the general situation is being mastered, the State is solid and institutions are functional. Territorial Administration Minister added that at the second biannual conference of Regional Governors, he instructed them to accompany the population in their activities for a smooth end-of-year celebrations.
