African Games 2023 : Emmanuel Eseme Wins Gold

This feat from the sprinter yesterday March 19, 2024 in the men’s 100m race takes Cameroon’s medal tally to 23 in the competition ongoing in Ghana.

Emmanuel Eseme Alobwede has won gold for Cameroon at the ongoing African Games in Ghana. The 30-year-old sprinter once more confirmed his supremacy as he finished first in the 100m event yesterday March 19, 2024 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra. Eseme Emmanuel won the 100m race in 10.14. The gold medal won by Emmanuel Eseme has increased Cameroon’s gold medal count to three in the African Games and a total of 23 medals. The Cameroon athletics team has so far put up an honourable performance in the competition.  After qualifying for the semi-finals by winning their respective heats, only Eseme out of the three Cameroonian flagbearers was able to secure a ticket for the final after he won the race in 10.23 seconds. The other two Cameroonians; Claude ITOUNGUE and Raphaël NGAGUELE, finished in fourth and fifth places in their respective semi-finals. Claude Itoungue finished the race in 10.53 seconds and Raphaël Ngaguele in 10.52 seconds. After qualifying for the final, Eseme said he was happy with his performance. He assured that he will continue working hard and bring medals for Cameroon.
