Despite all odds, the head coach of the national football team has been able to fasten his grip at the helm of the team.
The appointment of Marc Brys at the helm of the national football team on April 2, 2024 leaves much to write home about. His appointment by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education was seen as a strategic move to bolster the teams’ performance on the international stage. The aim was to get a fresh approach to leadership and tactics.
Marc Brys’ first task was the Cape Verde and Angola World Cup qualifiers in June. The Lions put up remarkable performances recording a victory against Cape Verde and a draw against Angola. Three months after, Marc Brys is back on the scene with the 2025 TotalEnergies AFCON qualifiers. During the second playing day, Marc Brys’ Indomitable Lions played a virgin draw with the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Tuesday September 10, 2024 in Kampala. The Indomitable Lions beat Namibia 1-0 in Group J during the first playing day on Saturday September 7, 2024 to start their campaign.
