GCE 2026: Written Session Resumes Today

Authorities of the Cameroon GCE Board alongside Secondary Education Minister have held strategic meetings to ensure all is set for the resumption of the exams suspended a fortnight ago.

The suspended Ordinary and Advanced Levels examinations organized by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board (CGCEB) resume today throughout the national territory. This Monday, June 22, 2026, candidates sitting Ordinary Level will open the examination with Physics I at 8 am. Those of Advanced Level will take Geography II and Physics II at the same time. At 1 pm, Ordinary Level will take Physics II while Advanced Level candidates on their part will have Geography III. Suspending the examinations on June 6, 2026, through a press release the Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga, in the document indicated that only those of Ordinary Level and Advanced Level were affected. But in reality it is different as those of Technical and Vocational Examination Intermediate Level (TVEE) were partially affected as their examinations have not come to an end. They will still have to wait to accompany those of Ordinary Level and Advanced Level to write compulsory subjects or subjects which cut across the examinations. For instance, on Wednesday June 24, 2026, Ordinary Level and TVEE Intermediate Level will have Economics I and Economics II. The next day, candidates of these two levels will write French Language I and French Language II. On the same day there shall be Computer Science I and Computer Science II in the afternoon. The candidates shall have Religious Knowledge I and Religious Knowledge II on July 2, 2026, among others.
