Mount Cameron Race Of Hope: 27th Edition Unveils New Male, Female Champions

The city of Buea in the South West Region of Cameron on February 19, 2022 played host to the annual international Mount Cameron Race that was won by Elvis Nsabinla in the men’s category and Tatah Carine in the female category.

The race started at 7 am (local time) at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium, Buea with 550 athletes from five countries, Eteki Njoh, President of South West Regional Athletics Federation, disclosed. It had five categories of participants: senior male, senior female, veteran, junior and the relay. The race course from Molyko to the summit of Mount Cameron and back is 38 kilometres long. Denizens emptied themselves on the race course and cheered the athletes as they ran up and down the highest peak in West Africa. 
In the senior male category, Elvis Nsabinla, came first in 4 hours, 32 minutes 50 seconds after challenging the “The chariots of the gods,” Efasa Moto. Gabsibuin Godlove, five-time winner of the race, came second after 4 hours, 34 minutes, 18 seconds. While Adamu Issa Buba followed in third place just two seconds afterwards.
