Chantal Biya International Cycling Race : Official Presentation Takes Place In Yaounde

The rich in colour ceremony took place yesterday, September 14, 2022 in in the presence of the Minister of Sports and Physical Education.

The 22nd edition of the Chantal Biya International Cycling Race will take place from October 2 to 8, 2022. A ceremony to officially present the competition to the public took place yesterday September 14, 2022 in Yaounde. Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi hailed the organisers for their efforts in ensuring a regularity of the competition and also for making the Chantal Biya International Cycling Race a centre of attraction. Minister Mouelle Kombi called on the organisers to work hand-in-glove in order to make the race a beautiful opportunity to display the riches of the country to the other foreign delegations.
From the presentation by the National Technical Director for Cycling, Joseph Evouna, it was revealed that the race will cover a distance of 601km with lodging in three towns notably, Yaounde, Ebolowa and Sangmelima. The ceremony for the presentation of teams will take place in Garoua on October 1, 2022. The race proper will kick off the following day with a closed circuit in Garoua (99.2km) on October 2, 2022. According to the official programme the second lap will take place along the Yaounde-Ngoumou-Ngomezap highway on October 5. The third lap will run from Yaounde-Ebolowa-Nkolandom (161.4km) on June 6. The fourth lap will take place along the Ebolowa-Mengong-Sangmelima highway, with a circuit on the arteries of the town (114km) on June 7.
