Improved Land Management Mechanisms Deliberated

 Parliamentarians and partners on November 07, 2017, discussed ways of securing land rights and decent governance in forest areas of Cameroon.

Faced with the challenges of global warming, land and natural resource management, Members of Parliament together with government officials and other stakeholders both at the national and international level engaged in environmental protection, brainstormed on strategies to improve good governance in the sector.

Meeting on November 07, 2017 under the banner of the Parliamentary Network for the Sustainable Management of Forest Ecosystems in Central Africa, REPAR, participants at the forum shared various experiences with the objective of arriving at recommendations that would be implemented to improve the sector in the country.

Opening the seminar on exchanges between government and parliamentarians on the management of land in Cameroon, the Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Hilarion Etong, saluted the relevance and the scope of the meeting saying it should enable the participants take stock of the process of land reforms in Cameroon, capitalize on the experiences of other countries present, identify the constraints related to the current process, and finally make recommendations that could improve the quality of result...
