MINCOM: Draft Budget To Boost Communication

This is embodied in the priority areas of the Ministry as the Minister defended his 2018 budget before the Finance and Budget Committee of the Senate on December 11, 2017.

The Minister of Communication, Issa, Tchiroma Bakary, has stated that significant sectors of innovation for the 2018 projected budget of his ministry will be enhancing governmental communication, tackling social media threats, preparing the communication landscape for next year’s presidential election and the 2019 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.

The proposed budget of FCFA four billion, 390 million will therefore see to the realisation of these outlined objectives besides revitalising public and private communication in the country. He stated that the two main programmes for his ministry include optimizing access to information and ensuring institutional support to the communication sub-sector.
