“The Panic Was Caused By Rumour”

“There was panic in Buea and its environs based on rumour. I want to assure the entire population of the South West Region and the educational community that they should continue with their activities unperturbed. They should not allow what happened last year when schools were taken hostage to occur again.

Our children should go to school. Security measures have been put in place and reinforced by the Head of State to protect the entire population and their activities.

A few people want to spread rumours to get the population in panic so that all our activities should be disturbed. We want the year 2018 to be a year of calm as we have important activities and challenges to tackle. So what happened today morning (Monday) in Buea and some other towns is just a rumour.
