CPP: Controversies Over Kah Walla’s “Suspension”

A press release of January 25, 2018 from the Secretary General of the CPP discards wide spread information on the suspension of the party’s President. 

Stakes are high, tension is rife with confusion at its apex at the Cameroon People’s Party, CPP, relating to the alleged suspension of the National Council of the party headed by social activist and entrepreneur, Edith Kabang Walla. Information and counteractions from supposed opposed factions of the party have left sympathisers in a state of perplexity.

According to a release signed by the Honorary National Chairman and Founder of CPP, Rev Pr Tita Samuel Fon, entitled “Resolutions of the restructuring meeting of the CPP party ahead of the 2018 Presidential elections”, the National Council headed by the 2011 presidential candidate has been suspended indefinitely. The release made public on January 22, 2018 is a resolution of a meeting held on December 29, 2017 in Bamenda at the residence of Pr Tita.

Amongst the resolutions arrived at during the meeting was the voting of Tamukong Roland Angong as the Secretary General and National Coordinator of the party, the rescheduling of the party’s national conference pending the filing in of reports by all basic organs and engaging in a frank political dialogue to resolve the Anglophone situation.
