Rejection of lists of candidates for the election of Senators scheduled for 25 March 2018

The Electoral Board,
Meeting in session as of right on 7 March 2018 in Yaounde, adopted the resolution set out as follows:

Section 1:- After a thorough scrutiny of the nomination papers contained in forty-two (42) lists of candidates submitted by nine (9) political parties for the election of Senators scheduled for 25 March 2018, five (5) lists of candidates found not in fulfilment with the conditions required by law were disqualified and rejected unanimously by the Members of Electoral Board present.

Section 2:-
The Electoral Board hereby took note of the withdrawal “Social Democratic Front (SDF)” to withdraw its list of candidates in the Centre Region.
The following lists of candidates are hereby rejected per region:

Adamawa Region
Union des populations du Cameroun (UPC)
Reasons:
Incomplete list of alternate candidates: 2 names out of 7;
Absence of signature on the declarations on honour of the candidates;
Absence of the certificate of non-conviction (Bulletin No.3) for the candidate, Longa Djangal Jean;
Two (2) birth certificates for the substantive candidate, Ibrahima;
Absence of the certificate of payment of deposit for all the candidates;
Absence of a copy of the birth certificate for two (2) alternate candidates.

East region
Social Democratic Front (SDF)

Reasons:
All the nomination papers submitted are incomplete:
Absence of originals of the payment of deposit;
Absence of a copy of the birth certificate for the substantive candidate,  Fenyite Moutchegue Henriette

Far North Region
Social Democratic Front (SDF)
Reasons:
Nomination papers legalised without signatures;
Incomplete list of the alternate candidates.

North Region
Union des Populations du Cameroun (UPC)
