Four modern ambulances have been acquired ahead of the competition next month.
Two modern ambulances have been added to the health sector in Cameroon ahead of the Women’s African Cup of Nations to take place in November 2016. A ceremony to officially receive and present the equipment took place at the esplanade of the Ministry of Public Health in Yaounde on Thursday October 13, 2016. The ambulances, of Mercedes brand, worth FCFA 105 millions are a donation from government of Turkey.
Speaking at the occasion, the Turkish Ambassador to Cameroon, Murat Ülkü said the donation is as a result of the fruitful cooperation that exists between Cameroon and Turkey. He assured Cameroon of his countries support especially in the health domain notably free training of ambulance staff and drivers in the use and maintenance of the ambulances.
On his part, Minister André Mama Fouda said the ambulances will enable the medical team take better care of victims of accidents and transport them safely from the scene of the accident and during transportation to the hospital.
