Mozambique: Ossufo Momade Named Interim RENAMO Chief

Mozambique’s leading opposition party and former rebel movement, RENAMO, now has a new interim leader in the person of Ossufo Momade after veteran chief Afonso Dhlakama died on May 3, 2018 of diabetes at 65 years.

Dhlakama, who headed the party for 39 years, died unexpectedly in the bush where he has lived for several years.
