National Statistical Council: Strategic Plan Evaluated

The 15 ordinary session took place on October, 20, 2016 and looked at the 2016-2019 programme.

 

Difficulties observed from the evaluation of the 2015-2020 National Strategy for Statistical Development (NSSD) in Cameroon have led to the elaboration of a three year programme to improve the initial project on national statistics. Participants at the 15th Ordinary Session of the National Statistic Council under the leadership of the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Louis Paul Motaze looked at the 2017-2019 plan of action to correct the shortfalls of the 2015-2020 NSSD. In his opening speech, the Minister highlighted the importance of producing viable statistics that can help in economic development and in the reduction of poverty in the country.

The second NSSD project in 2015 resulted in the identification of difficulties in the NSSD due to the absence of a framework to assure National Quality and putting in place of conditions to facilitate access to data. Various exposes were presented...
