A night of awards took place on Friday night breaking Saturday to honour some former actors in football.
Some former actors of football were offered prizes as a mark of recognition for their services to the nation in a ceremony on Friday night at the Saphirs hall in Douala. The event full of souvenirs was organised by veteran journalists, Njomo Kevin.
Giving reasons for organising the event, Njomo Kevin said he has always been touched with souvenir issues and realised that people easily forget national heroes once they are out of activity. Hence it is way of honouring talents.
Carl Enow Ngachu was offered a prize for having brought female football to the lime light while Ngando Picket received the prize for the best supporter of the Indomitable Lions. Former Lions like Roger Milla and Joseph Antoine Bell were also awarded prizes for their outstanding performances while the guest of honour was Samson Siasia of Nigeria who equally received a special prize.
