Maimouna Mollé Moussa is one of eight female Divisional Officers in the country, out of 360. At 33, the Divisional Officer, DO, for Garoua III Subdivision in Benoué Division of the North Region, is among elite women holding command positions under the Ministry of Territorial Administration, MINATD. In all, there are 10 women in command positions out of 438 – 10 male Regional Governors, 9 male Secretaries General in Governors’ offices, 57 male Senior Divisional Officers and 429 male Divisional Officers.

Though looking girlish, Maimouna Mollé Moussa has since her appointment on April 23, 2013 by President Paul Biya, stamped her authority on the part of the city of Garoua where she serves. She thus becomes the first ever woman to serve in a command position in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation in the North Region.
