Fako Mourns Eseka Train Accident Victims

Honourable Lifaka led militants and the elite to pray for the dead, wounded and the country.

 

All seven Sections of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Fako Division (South West Region) have jointly conducted an ecumenical religious service at Down-Beach, Limbe, to honour the dead and wounded of the Eseka 21 October train accident.

The Member of Parliament from Fako and Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, led the initiative whereby the various Sections of the CPDM intermeshed and interceded in solidarity and sympathy for the sorry situation of Eseka. In a concluding statement, Honourable Monjowa Lifaka assumed it was occasion to comfort the bereaved families, pray for Cameroon and call on the Almighty God to cast his eyes on Cameroon and Cameroonians.

Muslims and Christians of Catholic, Baptist and Presbyterian denominations congregated at the esplanade of Down-Beach under their respective authorities and ministers to worship the One Supreme Being who alone gives and takes live. Taking their turns on the pulpit, the ministers invoked peace and unity for Cameroonians so circumstances like the train accident which sources say left close to 70 deaths and about 600 wounded as well as the Boko Haram phenomenon troubling the Country could be withsto...
