FCFA 68 Million Assistance To Farmers

The National Programme for the Consolidation, Sustainability of the Agro-pastoral Counselling, PCP-ACEFA on Thursday September 26th offered the colossal sum of FCFA 6.8120.965 as financial support to some 13 farmer organisations in the Moungo Division. Speaking during the ceremony which took place at the conference hall of the Regional Delegation for Agriculture and Rural Development, The national coordinator, Bouba Moumini, said the projects financed were shortlisted after field visit to appraise their feasibility and called on the beneficiaries to respect the engagement signed with PCP-ACEFA, saying by giving out the cheques, the government has respected its own part of the agreement and it is now left to the farmer organisations to honour their own. He called for the judicial use of the money saying it is out to finance the earmarked projects not to solve personal or quarter problems. He said the disbursement of the second instalment of the financial assistance will depend on the good use of the first instalment, promising that ACEFA will move at the speed of the beneficiaries. He advised the recipients to deposit the cheque within 48 hours of reception.
