Ekondo-Titi: Free Diabetes Screening Organised

It was to mark this year’s World Diabetes Day with theme “Eyes on diabetes.

Monday, November 14, 2016, started with a solidarity diabetes 5-km walk by the population of Ekondo-Titi Subdivision in Ndian Division of the Southwest Region, led by the Divisional Officer, DO, Edwin Nkenya Ngwana. The event was to mark this year’s World Diabetes Day on the theme, “Eyes on Diabetes.”

The free screening organised by Pamol General Manager, Chief Charles Okon Mekanya, was to kick out diabetes while creating awareness in Ekondo-Titi Subdivision in particular and Ndian Division in general. According to Dr. Rose-Mary Dio Enow, Pharmacist and Educator on Diabetes for West Africa from the USA and Dr. Mouliom Njikam Rene, a Diabetologist from the Regional Hospital Limbe, whoever is tested positive is already a diabetic patient and has to avoid complications.
