2016 Women's AFCON: Preparations Intensify For Closing Ceremony

Choreographic rehearsals have been going on in the past two weeks in Yaoundé to ensure a grandiose ceremony.

 

The 10thAfrica Women’s Cup of Nations is slowly but gradually coming to an end. Ahead of the official closing ceremony billed for Saturday December 3, 2016 at the YaoundeOmnisports Stadium preparations have reached fever pitch in the nation’s capital city. Preparations have been going on in the past two weeks at the campus of LycéeGeneral Leclerc in Yaounde to ensure successful ceremony. At the Lycée Leclerc campus yesterday November 30, 2016 rehearsals were going on different choreographic displays that will be presented at the closing ceremony.

For the closing, a total of 950 choreographers were being drilled on different chorographic steps meant to thrill the public. Yekel Annie Flore, National Youth trainer said 950 actors will be involved. Out of the number, 248 are from Lycée Leclerc and the rest are students from State and private universities in Yaounde. She said unlike the opening ceremony where the choreographic display recounted the history of Cameroon, the closing ceremony will be a presentation of Africa because Cameroon is hosting different African countries.

The choreographic display will be a presentation of the map of Africa and the dances from the different regions of Africa. Through the choreographic display,it will be an opportunity to thank countries that took part in the Women’s AFCON 2016. The ...
