Cécile Mballa Eyenga : First Female SG At MINREX

She was Director of the Department of United Nations and Decentralised Cooperation at the Ministry of External Relations.

A career diplomat in the person of Cécile Mballa Eyenga has been appointed by the President of the Republic as the new Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations (MINREX). The Presidential decree of June 30, 2020 promoted the trained diplomat from Director of the Department of United Nations and Decentralisation to Secretary General of the same ministry.

Having studied diplomacy for several years at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon, Cécile Mballa Eyenga is a seasoned diplomat and has served at the United Nations headquarters in New York, representing Cameroon’s interest. From 2002 to 2017, she served at the Permanent Mission of Cameroon to the United Nations. Upon her return to the country, she was made Director of the United Nations Department, a position she occupied till her June 30, 2020 appointment.

The diplomat, Minister Plenipotentiary, was born in November 1965 and has a Doctorate of International Relations in Diplomacy from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) obtained in 2000. In ...
