Group D : Leadership Struggle Heightens

Tanzania and Guinea will play their last group game at the Reunification Stadium in Douala on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

The ongoing Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) entered the third playing day yesterday January 24, 2021. In group D, the struggle for leadership has intensified as all the teams are seeking for qualification to the quarterfinals. After two playing days, Guinea is topping group D with four points. They are followed by Zambia with four points. The two teams are separated by goal difference. Tanzania is third with three points and Namibia trails the table with zero point. 
Guinea played a 1-1 tie with Zambia in the first game at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium. Guinea’s goal was scored by Victor Kantabadouno at the 56th minute while Zambia’s goal was scored by Spencer Sautu at the 87th minute. Guinea’s Morlaye Sylla, was announced Man of the Match after Adit Zourak, central referee from Morocco, sounded his final whistle. In the second game, Tanzania beat Namibia 1-0. Faridi Musa Shah of Tanzania scored a 65th minute lone goal of the match dashing all the hopes of Namibia that had come out of its shell to dominate the match with 51 percent ball possession.
