Environment, Protection of Nature: National Development Strategy In Place

The Minister of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development chaired a national get-together in Yaounde on December 27, 2016.

 

Cameroon is aligning with the 1992 guidelines issued in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by delegates to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development that hinges on the need of countries to come up with national strategies that guide governments in taking decisions on protecting environment and sustainable development.

The Minister of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development, Hele Pierre in Yaounde on December 27, 2016, chaired a national workshop to endorse Cameroon’s strategy, drawn up by Agora Consulting. The national strategy is a common mechanism that highlight stakes and necessary short and long-term evolution of sector indicators, gives precision on integration modalities for sustainable development and policies and to follow-up progress in the sector.
