Star Building : Chamber Of Commerce Solicits Support

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on June 15, 2021 had a working session with a delegation of officials of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute has stressed the importance of regular and structured meetings with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Handicraft of Cameroon and expressed the readiness to always receive them at anytime. The Chamber is a consensus building organisation with the private sector and represents the private sector and its concerns.
He spoke on June 15, 2021 after discussions with members of the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce led by its President Christophe Eken. After the discussions, he told the press that they came to present  to the Prime Minister the difficulties they have been facing in carrying our their missions. He said the State subvention has dropped from FCFA 40 to 2 billion. Corroborating the President, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Ekoko Mukete said, “We came here with the concerns of the private sector and to speak of some of the issues the private sector is facing.” On the details about their discussions, he added; “We discussed the ability of the Chamber of Commerce to have regular and independent funding in order to carry on with its affairs which is key.” President Christophe Eken on his part,  indicated that, “The only thing we can say is to tell government to help us in order for us to help it.”
